Antique canes with the king of beasts: The Lion
The lion has been an icon of bravery, strength and royalty for thousands of years Africa, Europe and even Asia. He appeared prominently in ancient Mesopotamia and Egypt as a symbol of kings and East Asia (where people had never seen real lions!), they were worshiped as protectors of humans from evil spirits. Not surprisingly officials liked to cane rods lion !
From medieval times, the lion was used in heraldry throughout Europe. Although there are many variations of heraldic lions, there are several important positions in the lion rampant (standing on hind legs), passing (on), stat (standing on all fours), secant (seated) and sleeping (lying). You can also take note of the hand-made African-carved cane with a lion theme. They are really nice and the warmth of fine rare woods that grow on land where the real lions. Although many have a contemporary design (based on old canes Africa) they are compatible in style at one of the ancient lion canes made in Europe or the United States, and worth owning as a fashion accessory a gentleman's agreement.
